Samsung BDP3600 Blu-ray Player CustomerReview
I got this player because of it’s Netflix and Pandora capabilities. This player has never failed me at all. The initial set-up and firmware upgrade was a little challenge, nevertheless I got through it just fine. The moment the player was connected to the wifi the firmware upgrade automatically prompted. Understanding the manual and following it correctly is crucial.
It’s wifi capability greatly depends on the seed subscription. I have the most basic plan from verizon, nevertheless my wifi works just fine with this player. I already have around 5 gadgets hooked up to it including this one. (The walls is one great factor that slows down wifi speed.)
Hooking this up to a home network requires a little computer knowledge. Setting this up is done not only in the player but in the pc as well.
A better choice player form me because of it’s price, features and speed, set up however is for the techy.
Samsung BD-P3600 1080p Blu-ray Disc Player

Worst product ever – Paul D. Green – Spring Branch, TX, United States
They call this a Blu Ray player. Only I’d never know it. Cause it will only load Blu Ray disks .5 out of 10 times. I’ve upgraded the firsmware 3 times in the 6 months I’ve owned it. We’ve rented disks — it won’t play them. We’ve bought disks — it won’t play those either. New disks, old disks, clean disks or dirty disks it’s an equal opportunity no-go. If you are looking for a Blu Ray player… stay away from Samsung. That’s for sure.

Samsung Blu Ray is not dependable. – RogerN –
My wife and I had previously purchased a Samsung blu-ray (1600) and had had a good experience with it. We purchasd the 3600 from Amazon. From the outset, it did not play some bly-ray titles and would skip and stutter as it read the disc. It got worse and worse. I first of all went on line at Samsung for help. They confirmed that I had all the firmware updates and had tested everything appropriately I spent and hour with the person before being told to call Samsung. I called Samsung the next day. The person was very nice, but explained that labor is not guaranteed, just parts after the first 90 days, but within the year warrantee. I spoke with her for half an hour and she indicated that she was going to recommend they extend the labor warrantee and would get back to me after she had checked with a supervisor. I never heard from her. I spent another half hour on the phone a couple of days later, and then was dropped. I called back the next day and was told after sharing all of my information for the fourth time, that the problem was with the firmware and that others were having similar proablems and that a new firmware update would be coming out shortly.
First of all, I have had problems since I purchased it (I should have called on the warrantee sooner). Second, no firmware update has come out.
I purchased another brand of blu-ray for my son in December. He is very happy. I think I will follow suit. My strong advice – Samsung blu-rays are not reliable and I strongly encourage others to not buy them.

Great while it lasted – Robert Schaffer – Los Angeles, CA USA
I bought my unit in April 2009 and was extremely pleased with the video and sound quality. However it just abruptly died in July 2010. It was the first of my many VCR and DVD players to die so I am not naturally pleased with the outcome. I also hear that reliability may be or have been a problem with these units….Unfortunately when I read about all of the units out there in the 0 – 0 price range, the Samsung units keep coming out on top so I will probably buy another one.
The one extreme positive of the unit was the ease in which I could set up Net-Flix and and YouTube. If my next one lasts at least three years I will be very happy.
